Butcher Block Deli in Monroe

Great place to have lunch. The food is good and the prices are perfect. Our service today was perfect and we were in and out with no problem.

My family has enjoyed the butcher block for many years.

Straight forward, no frills, disposable plates and cups, home southern cooking, quick bite, standard to sub-standard fair. Fills a need...but not on the Michelin Star watch list. Service is friendly and has a nice cosy atmosphere. 2.5 stars.

Nice location in downtown Monroe, GA. No frills plates and lots of specials.

Good old fashioned sandwich shop with lots of standard fried foods. Hasn't changed in years and is a local staple.

Ate here again yesterday. Food was great and they cooked the okra crisp. Great country fried steak. Great llace tk stop for a meat and two veg.

The food seemed well prepared but the mashed potatoes were ice cold, not room temp but ice cold. The meatloaf was barely warm. The green beans were super hot. I would not recommend this place.

I am so happy Butcher Block is open again and finally have my favorite MACARONI SALAD back on the menu...if you haven't tried it you need to it's the BEST. I love this place and recommend it to everyone.

Rude server she was a ginger got accused of stealing sugar but had a to go order with unsweetened tea for a Diabetic after his house burned down i will not go back to a hostile place that accuses the customer of stealing for a to go order.

Menus are on the wall and are not visible from every seat. Food is good. Service is lacking.

My boss and I had a great lunch here! The service was lovely, and I really enjoyed the fish basket. The hush puppies were amazing! The perfect blend of crispy and soft. My boss enjoyed her chili dog too. I hope to be able to return soon!

The wait staff was great, attentive without being intrusive. While the chicken livers and chopped steak we had was good, the sides were a bit lacking.

Sometimes I have a good experience here. Other times I don’t. Their mashed potatoes and gravy is a hard mound and not much flavor. Green beans are canned. The chicken tenders always have that hard chewy strip down the middle. However, they have the best sweet tea and hot dogs!!! I’ve had their country fried steak once and it was very good!! Fried okra is good!! Turnip greens are always perfect!! Sometimes we get really sweet servers and other times not so much. One time a lady server was pretty much slinging (very forcefully) chairs around and was obviously aggravated at us when I wasn’t ready to order. Maybe she was just having a bad day. They are ALWAYS crowded so that should count for something. Very cute, country, and homey atmosphere. I’ll keep going back because I just always do.

Had a blue plate special. It was wonderful, will return to this restaurant.

The only complaint we have is NO broccoli.Everything else has always been great.

It's okay. I love the menu prices and kids prices. The fries aren't that great and the salad was soupy. The chicken is good and the hamburger steak was good.

I have been to this resturaunt in the past, and the food was excellent!!! I decided to bring my kids and have lunch, and I ordered the cfs with okra and turnip greens. Upon receiving my plate the okra was old and burnt, I had to wave down a server, because she didnt come by and ask me how our food was. I told the server about my okra, and she already knew before I finished talking. The servers were not very friendly either. I was very surprised by my visit today because, they used to be very good!!!
